The deadline to register to vote in the November Election is drawing close. Texas residents have until Oct. 7 to file their registrations to vote, which is 30 days before the election.
The City of Brownfield saw an increase in its tax rebates in September over last year’s totals in 2023. Brownfield received $148,571.62 in September, a 11.93 percent increase from September 2023’s $132,728.59 received.

LITTLEFIELD — Brownfield’s Kate Hesse won the Girls’ varsity race at the Littlefield XC Invitational on Saturday at Littlefield High School.
SHALLOWATER — It was a long day for the Brownfield tennis team, even with John Fields back on the court after battling illness.
DENVER CITY — Cam Arendall of Wellman- Union was the top finisher for the Wildcats at the Plains XC Invite on Saturday at Yoakum County Park. Arendall, a sophomore, covered the threemile course in 17:11.99 seconds as Wellman-Union finished seventh in the team race with 190 points.
